Blog 3: My Relationship with Writing

My relationship with writing has defiantly grown over the years and we have been through a lot of ups and downs together. Many people see writing as a stress reliever that just helps you clear your mind and relax. I on the other hand see it as the culprit that causes my stress and frustration. I know that writing is important and that no matter where you go in life you are most likely going to always need writing as a skill. I have taken multiple honors’ writing classes all throughout high school and I have come to the conclusion that it is still just not my thing. Another part of me feels as though I have taken so many writing classes that now I can't tell what is a good paper and what is not. The most frustrating thing for me about writing is the amount of time it takes. I want to edit my paper while I am writing it because I feel like it is pointless to take the time and edit something bad I could have done earlier. This makes it is hard for me to just sit down and write a ton of stuff that comes to mind and go back fixing it later. Although I do not like writing I know that it will be important throughout anything and will be a useful skill to have.

  1. Writing is hard. Straight up. I'll be the first to say so. You are doing a great job working at it, which is the really important part. Think about reading more as well-- the things that we read impact the way we write greatly. Keep up the good work!
