My DIY Story :]

I didn't get into the practice of Art until I was about 13 years old, Yes, it has not been too long since I started to make my own piece of drawings, learning about all the type of pencils, and exploring the world of art but I've already developed a passion for it. I still remember when I first picked up a pencil and truly drew something I felt very content about when it was finished. The drawing was of two small bears (I was 13) in which were saying goodbye to each other because one is leaving on a journey, a journey that is going to feel like an eternity. This drawing was inspired by images I’ve seen online which I knew I could drew and add some changes; I drew it as a fun thing just to give to my best friend at the time as a goodbye gift since I was moving out of the state. She was very impressed with it I guess and told me I should continue on that path. I thought about what she said and about the satisfying feeling I had when the piece was done and in the end I just agreed with my best friend that “yah! Why not? If I enjoy it a lot!” So I started on more and more drawings, searching, and looking around to find inspirations for new pieces. It gradually became a hobby for me, when I am stress or just simply bored I would look up images and see if I could find new ideas. But drawing, although was and still is a big part of my life, it is only what exposed me to the culture of DIY. Now, I look up new things almost all the time to find different ways of making stuff around the house, something fun, beneficial, and cheap, since I’m a college student now, I had to learn to save as much as possible . I’ve even got my sister started on watching and practicing DIY tutorials, it’s a fun thing to do with a younger sibling. So, you could say that DIY is a "big deal" in my household. I've attached a small piece that I did in a group drawing that is my favorite piece so far and every time I look at it I just feel very proud of it and wants to share it with everyone. After all, art is what keeps me motivated and relieves my stress.

Those who are the hardest to love needs it the most.

  2. Great story! I like drawing but I am not that good. Will you teach me? How much for lessons?
