DIY Culture (Kinda)

Having a great passion to create random things as well as challenging myself to do things on my own that others would not necessarily tackle. I enjoy the DIY culture, because it is a great way to express yourself in a unique way. I personally would much rather do something on my own rather than purchasing an object that someone else had created. Originality for me is a primary aspect. Just over the summer, I built a custom engine for a Subaru WRX, gathering aftermarket parts and creating my own build. Doesn’t that seem a little crazy? To me the crazier it sounds the better!
Since I was young I had that passion do to things myself and trusting the originality of my work rather than having someone else do it for me. For instance, I had created a small business by the age of 13 fixing anything technology related such as, computers, IPods, cellular devices, game consoles, and car stereos. Having a mind that constantly thrives to explore new things; I started tinkering with IPods, designing in my engineering class a new prototype called the “Watermelon Seed,” I know pretty cheesy.
In my room most items inside are custom, custom built computer (Hoping to get water cooling soon), custom subwoofers that I put together, along with a bunch of random things that interest me. I am a very curious person and I am proud to be different from a vast amount of people. I hope I did not go off topic too much!

To me DIY allows me to explore my creativity in many ways possible. I hope to create new things that others have yet to see, along with capturing others mind to become self-motivated creating their own projects without the need of relying on store items that are commonly found. Dang, I feel like I wrote a load of crap at the moment, but hey I will get better at this eventually!

  1. Mohamed! That you can work on cars and computers and build things-- super wonderful. Your prose are great, and if anything I want to hear more detail about your work. Maybe pick something that illustrates a future prompt well and tell us more about your process?
