What I love about DIY culture is that no artistic ability is needed for most of the things you make. Also, more than half of your supplies for almost any project can usually be found around your own house. Fancy, expensive supplies are never needed, and you also have the opportunity to make changes to the design along the way. Even if what you make looks atrocious, at least you know or next time what you will need to do so that same thing doesn't happen again.
No matter what you choose to make, whatever it is will always remain a little more special than the stuff you buy at the store. You invest your time, money and effort in ways you don't normally do but it's completely worth it when you do. Also, sharing your stuff brings you that much closer to the people you care about. I crocheted a scarf for my friend's birthday and she had never been so thankful for a gift. You will be rewarded for whatever you make, but also for what you give.
Oh my gosh!!! I love the decorations that you put! I think I wanna try these. But that is really awesome that you've made glow in the dark jars! I have never heard of marshmallow snowmen!! That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool that you crochet. I knit and I think it's such a great way to relax. Like yourself, I love Pinterest. I think I have over 5,000 pins or something crazy like that!
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun Taylor. I think the idea of pulling together so many ideas and then finding out how to engage them is a great way of being creative.
