Blog 3: Relationship with writing Peter Juska

My relationship with writing has always been somewhere between good and bad.  What I mean is that writing can be hard for me sometimes, but it can also be very easy for me.  It really depends on the type of paper or prompt I am responding to.  When the topic of the paper or prompt is more informal, meaning that I can use colloquial language, then writing is very easy for me.  This is because I am allowed to write as if I were having a conversation.  More formal papers especially argumentative and research papers are difficult for me since forming arguments can be difficult for me sometimes.  I think that with work I can improve my skills when writing formal papers.  My junior year of high school I was in a class that was more literature based, and we wrote more informally.  When I was graded on my papers in that class I did well.  Senior year I took AP Language, where all we did was write argumentative papers and essays, and as you can guess I did horribly when I was graded on these papers.  The moral of the story is that I do not have a good relationship with argumentative writing, but I do have a good relationship with informal papers that use colloquial language.
