Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been into making crafts and doing different and creative projects. When I was four, scissors, paper, crayons, and tape were a large part of my life. Almost daily, I remember constructing miniature houses and special paper furniture pieces to go inside the houses. I also made many paper wallets for my family, which they did appreciate although they were not good quality. Soon, my parents were blowing money on tape. I had a irreplaceable love for tape, and I used it on absolutely everything.
Though I no longer carry an obsession for tape, I absolutely love the concept of DIY, and I thoroughly enjoy making artistic objects. One of my largest inspirations for DIY projects and ideas is Pinterest. About two years ago, my friends and I had a "pinterest party", where we each brought a recipe we found from Pinterest, and we baked every single one. Though it was somewhat time consuming, it was so much fun, because we were all together, and we had the opportunity to share our own personal interests of baking with one another. About one year later, I became personally inspired to create a ring out of sterling silver wire for myself. One day while searching on Pinterest, I came across a DIY heart ring that someone had made from wire. Because of that post, I felt inspired to make my own ring, but I didn't want it to be a heart, I wanted to make it unique and different, so I made it into a swirl. Already, I had a love for rings, which I still carry today, so it was only fitting that I actually created one. I had so much fun making it, and it only took me about an hour to perfect it.Currently, I feel inspired to make unique coffee cups. I really love this because you create your own design with sharpies on a coffee mug, you bake it, and then you have a personalized coffee mug on a budget! The idea I like is number 7 on the link. http://www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/35-money-saving-home-decor-knock-offs?sub=2134929_1054954#3ev9hq8
Overall, I love DIY, and I think it brings fun, creativity, and a uniqueness to life as individuals, and as people in society with one another. I can't wait to see what other things I will be inspired to make in the years to come.
