My Relationship to Writing

I really love writing.  Throughout my entire life, I have always been drawn toward the creativity of writing, and the uniqueness you feel when you have accomplished writing something that either means something to you, or to someone else.  I have always considered myself to be a good writer, however, my freshman year of high school is when I really began to fall in love with writing, and when I discovered how much joy it brought to me.
The irony is that as a child, I never really wanted to read or write, because when you are so young, writing doesn't really hold a meaning, it is almost there to simply just teach you how to say a word, or how to learn that a cat meows.  Although much farther down the road, once I began AP level English classes at my high school, I became a completely new writer, and I began to thoroughly enjoy the writing in which I was partaking in.  I remember how I was introduced to the different ways of conveying ideas, how to make writing sound beautiful, and even how to make it touch the soul, and I realized that writing is an element of life, which is highly important in discovering who you are, and the things you care about.  For me, writing is not a challenge, because I look at it more as a pleasure, and something in which I can express my true thoughts or ideas about the world.
For my future career, I would like to be a Clinical Psychologist, and in psychology, writing is a very important aspect within the field.  I will be using my writing to complete my doctoral work, in the beginning of my career process, but when I am actually practicing, I will be incorporating writing into my job daily.  I will have to write facts and overall analyses of patients, and I will hopefully be able to contribute my knowledge to magazines or other forms of entertainment in order to get my name out there, and to show the public that they can come to me for any knowledge they may be curious about.  Overall, I love writing, and I know I will write forever, because I want to.

  2. The way you talk about writing is beautiful. Coming from a more scientific background, I have never felt that much appreciation for writing, but your story is truly inspiring!
