For me, to be apart of a community is to be apart of a group of people, who share some common interest. I haven't necessarily joined a community in the past but I have defiantly grown into some. From kindergarten all the way to senior year I attended the same school. Through the years the school ranged from having 400-175 kids. Sports, like in many schools, was a big deal in my school and so I decided to join into that community. From third grade on I played every sport (volleyball, soccer, and basketball), as well as club volleyball through middle school. Because our school was so small it was not hard to join into the sports community. Sports in general there were main commmunity but through that I found many subcommunities. In these subcommunities I would come to find some of my most treasured relationships. Joining the main community of sports was not to difficult but joing the subcommunities was the challenge. Through both sports and school I was expected to display discipline, trustworthiness, and loyalty. Displaying these characteristics was how I found the people that valued and supported the same things I did.
