Joining a Community
Joining a community to me is a lot of trial and error. At first you have no idea where different things are, or how to find them, and even once you get the hang of the general idea, the community makes reference to different parts of the program that you don't recognize. Its also a lot of repetition. for example, I have been on vine for a while, and its always changing. Vines are 7 second videos people can post. Sometimes these videos go viral, and you have to know the original viral video, for all the remakes to make sense or be even remotely funny. I'll post a link of an original video vs. a remake. Original Vs. Remake. It reminds me of Shakespearean humor. No one from our decade gets the joke until its explained to them. And once its explained, its not funny anymore no matter how clever the statement was. You kind of just have to get the basics down first before you start trying to understand the more complicated sections of the program. Such as pinterest. I first started re-pinning things and once I got the hang of it, then I could post things on my own, or send different pins to my friends.
