There are many different pros and cons to communities. In my community of dirt track racers the majority of what the other racers offer is very positive. Many of the members on the forum are very nice and want to give you advice on any questions that you might ask. This is a community where you would maybe make a couple of new friends. But it is more of a resource, where dirt track racers go to ask and answer questions about their race cars. The way the forum is set up is defiantly a pro. The forum has every different type of dirt track racing. Each different type of dirt track car has its own category with in the forum. Which makes it very easy for people to start up new threads within their type of racing. If people ask question but do not give enough information about what is going wrong with their car, people often ask for more in-depth examples of what is happening. So then they are able to give the most knowledgeable answer to your question. These people are all about helping each other out. Even though some of them might be racing against each other.
One con of my community is the one troll that I have found. This person goes on every thread and posts a bunch of false or outdated information about the subject. He just posts to post. This person has posted over 780 times in under a year. Many of the members have not even posted that much since they started the forum multiple years ago. Another con is that your post might be answered for months or not answered at all some times.
